How to detect Lifting Points to make the lifting environment safe?

April 12, 2024

We are a professional manufacturer of Lifting Points. We provide the following professional instructions for the lifting ring classification and testing process you proposed:

The Lifting Point is usually divided into two types of rotating lifting rings: G80 and G100 according to the pulling force level. The pulling force of G100 products is 25% higher than that of G80 products.

Inspection Before Leaving The Factory

Before leaving the factory, we conducted comprehensive testing to ensure that Lifting Point meets the relevant requirements of national standards or customer requirements, including but not limited to the following aspects:

1.1. Appearance Inspection

We carefully inspected the appearance of the Lifting Point to ensure that its surface was flat and smooth, without defects such as cracks, plastic deformation, or bubbles. Severe scratches such as collision damage and any cracks that may affect the service life of the lifting ring are strictly prohibited.

1.2. Dimensional Inspection

The inspection of Lifting Point must be carried out according to the requirements of the drawings, and various indicators must be accurately determined, including but not limited to the inner diameter of the lifting ring, the diameter of the bolt hole, the height of the lifting ring, the width of the lifting ring, etc.

1.3. Material Detection

The material of Lifting Point must comply with relevant national standards or customer-specified material standards. We have conducted strict inspections on the materials of the lifting rings, including testing the material and tensile strength of the steel wire ropes, as well as testing the material and hardness of the lifting ring shells.

1.4. Carrying Capacity Detection

Bearing capacity testing is a key part of Lifting Point testing. We conducted precise bearing capacity testing on the Lifting Point to ensure that its load strength meets the requirements. During the inspection process, we conduct inspection and judgment according to the material and size of the Lifting Point, combined with relevant standards, and according to the prescribed methods. If necessary, we will also conduct destructive tests.

2. Detection During Actual Use

In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the Lifting Point during actual use, it is recommended to conduct testing at least once a year and keep records. If the lifting point is in heavy service, more frequent inspections will be required.

2.1. Surface Condition Of Lifting Point

We recommend regularly checking the surface condition of the Lifting Point to ensure it is free from abnormal wear or other damage.

2.2. Lifting Point Wear And Tear

Regularly check the wear of the Lifting Point, and promptly detect and deal with the wear problem of the lifting ring.

2.3. Torsional Deformation Of Lifting Point

Pay attention to observing whether there is torsional deformation in the Lifting Point, and deal with or replace it in time.

2.4. Surface Cracks, Breaks, Scratches, etc.

Regularly check whether there are cracks, breaks, scratches, etc. on the surface of the Lifting Point, and ensure that the damaged Lifting Point is scrapped and replaced in a timely manner.

Inspection Cycle

In addition to daily inspections, we recommend conducting inspections and tests according to the following cycles:

- Work: Visual inspection every 6 months;

- Conduct a comprehensive inspection every 12 months, and the periodic inspection can be delayed appropriately or 1 month in advance according to the usage.

We are well aware of the importance of Lifting Point in the industrial field and will always provide you with high-quality products and services with a professional and rigorous attitude.
